There Must Be More to Life Than This, Proyek bersama Freddie Mercury (Queen) dan Michael Jackson

There Must Be More to Life Than This awalnya akan jadi salah satu materi lagu untuk album Queen, Hot Space, yang rilis tahun 1982. Proses rekaman mulai dilakukan pada 1981, namun lagu itu tak pernah selesai. Grup ini baru sempat merekam lagu latar.

Dua tahun kemudian, Freddie melakukan kunjungan ke kediaman Michael Jackson. Mereka merekam beberapa demo, termasuk lagu ini. Lagi-lagi, batal. Pasalnya, Michael bersikeras membawa Ilama peliharaannya untuk hadir dalam sesi. Freddie keberatan. Di sisi lain, Michael pun tak suka dengan kebiasaan Freddie dalam memakai narkoba. Belum sampai tuntas, Freddie pulang ke London. 

Akhirnya lagu yang memang ditulis oleh Freddie Mercury ini dinyanyikannya sendiri untuk album solonya, Mr. Bad Guy yang rilis pada 1985.

Pasca kematian Michael, lagu ini dirilis Queen dalam album Queen Forever (2014). Rekaman berisi duet Freddie-Michael dengan backing track asli dari sesi Hot Space; May pada gitar, Taylor pada drum, dan John Deacon pada bass.
