This Woman's Work, Cerita Kate Bush Tentang Perempuan

Lagu ini ditulis Kate Bush untuk film lanjutan She's Having A Baby tentang seorang laki-laki yang tengah tak berdaya menunggu istrinya yang tengah melahirkan di ruang sebelah. Ia menulis dari perspektif sang laki-laki, lalu menjudulinya dengan This Woman's Work. Kate Bush merekam lagu ini di album 'The Sensual World' yang rilis tahun 1989. 

Ada yang belum kenal Kate Bush? Lagunya memang tak banyak putar di tanah air, kecuali para penikmat musik tertentu. Nama lengkapnya Catherine Bush. Lahir di Inggris pada 30 Juli 1958. Kate dikenal sebagai musisi, penyanyi, dan penulis lagu. Debut pertamanya adalah single Wuthering Heights yang rilis tahun 1978, saat usinya 19 tahun. Lagu ini sempat berada di puncak tangga lagu Britania Raya selama empat pekan. Lewat lagu ini Kate menjadi penyanyi perempuan pertama yang ada di nomor satu tanggu lagu dengan lagu yang merupakan karyanya sendiri. 

Sepanjang berkarya, Kate sebanyak 13 kali masuk nominasi untuk Penghargaan Phonographic Industry dan 3 nominasi Grammy Award. Pada tahun 1987 ia memenangkan Brit Award untuk kategori Best British Female Artist. Kate juga mendapat pengakuan Ivor Novello Award untuk Outstanding Contribution to British Music. Pada tahun 2013 lalu Ratu Elizabeth II menganugerahi Bush dengan gelar Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE).
