Reality rilis tahun 1980, menjadi original soundtrack film Prancis 'La Boum' yang salah satunya dibintangi Sophie Marceau, aktris yang belakangan dikenal sebagai salah satu gadis Bond. Sang penyanyi, Richard Sanderson sebetulnya melahirkan tiga hits, Reality, Sun, So Many Ways dan She's a Lady. Tapi tampaknya Reality adalah yang terbaik. Beberapa kali rilis ulang, lagu ini masih saja meraih sukses. Terutama di Eropa dan Asia. Bahkan ada di puncak chart beberapa negara seperti Jerman, Prancis, Italia, Austria, Finlandia, dan Switzerland.
Sejak berkarya di dunia musik tahun 70-an, Richard Sanderson telah melahirkan 13 album studio dan 2 album kompilasi. Selain menyanyi, pria asal Inggris ini juga piawai bermain musik.
