Masih ingat film The Lion King? Film ini memasang tagline: "Life's greatest adventure is finding your place in the Circle of Life." Jadilah kemudian lirik bertajuk Circle of Life yang ditulis oleh Tim Rice dengan musik yang digarap Elton John. Lagu ini masuk nominasi Oscar, tapi kalah saing dengan lagu lain, dari film yang sama, penulis dan penggubah yang sama pula lewat: Can You Feel The Love Tonight?"
The Lion King disebut-sebut sebagai film animasi dengan fitur tradisional terbaik dan terlaris sepanjang masa. Lagu-lagu pada film ini juga memainkan peranan penting. Untuk Circle of Life, Elton John sendiri mengaku lagu ini sebagai salah satu favoritnya. Bahkan menurutnya lagu ini lebih bagus dibandingkan Can You Feel The Love Tonight? yang memenangkan Oscar. Lirik garapan Tim Rice pada Circle of Life ini disebutnya sebagai brilian.
