Yup, Don't Wanna Lose You adalah single pertama yang dirilis Gloria Estefan tanpa embel-embel Miami Sound Machine, grup bentukan suaminya yang telah menaunginya sejak tahun 1977. Single ini langsung melejit. Menjadi nomor satu di tangga lagu Amerika dan posisi enam di Inggris. Don't Wanna Lose You rilis dalam album Cuts Both Ways tahun 1989.

Gloria Estefan juga merekam Don't Wanna Lose You dalam bahasa Spanyol, Si Voy a Perderte. Versi ini juga menjadi jawara pada Billboard's Hot Latin Tracks. Selain itu juga dalam versi Portugis, Se Tenho que Perder, yang rilis sebagai single di Brazil. Lewat lagu ini dinominasikan mendapatkan Grammy Award untuk kategori Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. Sayangnya ia kalah dari Bonnie Raitt yang saat itu muncul dengan Nick of Time.
